Wired alarm systems still have a deep foundation in many homes, shops, and small businesses. In many cases, the wired detectors already installed on site are still working well. Replacing every PIR sensor, door contact, or safety detector can add unnecessary cost, especially when those devices are still reliable and useful.
For many retrofit projects, the smarter path is not to remove everything.
It is to keep what still works, and connect it to a newer, smarter wireless system.
That is why we introduced Roombanker Transmitter.
Roombanker Transmitter is a single-zone wired-to-wireless alarm converter that helps installers connect an existing wired detector to the Roombanker wireless security system. Instead of replacing every wired device, installers can keep useful wired sensors in place and bring them into a modern wireless alarm ecosystem.
Once connected through the Transmitter, the wired device can be registered to the Roombanker Hub and managed through the app. Users can receive alarm and event notifications, while installers can configure the device according to the actual wired input.
What makes it useful for retrofit projects?
1. Single-zone wired-to-wireless conversion
The Transmitter is designed for one wired detector or one wired input, making it suitable for local retrofit points such as an existing PIR sensor, door contact, leakage detector, panic button, or similar wired alarm device.
2. 3.3V auxiliary power for suitable wired devices
The Transmitter provides 3.3V auxiliary power output for suitable low-power wired devices. This helps simplify wiring in compatible installations and gives installers another option when connecting existing wired detectors to a wireless system.
3. AO+/AO- wired output
Beyond receiving wired alarm signals, the Transmitter also includes an AO+/AO- wired output for controlling an external wired device, such as a warning light, relay, lighting circuit, or siren, depending on the installation design and load requirements.
4. 13 configurable event types
Installers can assign the connected wired input to different event types, so the system can understand whether the signal represents intrusion, fire, panic, leakage, glass break, temperature, vibration, or another configured event.
5. Bistable and Pulse modes
Different wired devices behave differently. Some maintain an open/closed contact state, while others send a short trigger signal. The Transmitter supports both Bistable and Pulse modes for more flexible retrofit wiring.
6. RBF wireless communication
Using Roombanker RBF wireless protocol, the Transmitter communicates with the Hub over a distance of up to 1500 meters in open field, with anti-jamming protection and transmitted data encryption.
7. App-based system management
A connected wired detector does not become a standalone smart device by itself. Instead, through the Transmitter, it becomes part of the Roombanker wireless security system, where users can manage related settings, receive notifications, and monitor events through the app.
